A Disabled Pig Who Gets By With A Little Help!

A Disabled Pig Who Gets By With A Little Help!

Meet Chris P. Bacon, the coolest little disabled pig on the block. See, Mr. Bacon was born without the use of his hind legs, so he was given this genius little contraption to get him around and moving again, and get him going on his way with a little wheelchair cart to explore the world!

The pig’s previous owners had taken him to the veterinarian in Florida to put him down, since they just kind of assumed that there wouldn’t be anything they could do and there was no way to allow the pig to live a positive, healthy quality of life with only his two front legs.

The vet, on the other hand, took the pig under his wing, and created this cart out of his children’s toys in order for the pig to have a way to move around with a lightweight contraption. And it worked!

Chris P. Bacon only weighs four pounds right now, but he is expected to be a fully healthy pig and grow to be about fifty pounds by the time he’s done growing and all grown up. And, with his new wheelchair cart, he’s got the ability to move around easily and fully like it’s no problem at all!

The coolest part of the story is that, while the pig is in Florida, a New Hampshire company saw the story and saw Chris P. Bacon moving around, and they are making it their mission to create a more durable and worthwhile cart for the little guy to use as he grows and gets older.

Very cool!

Also, big thanks to Serina for pointing this story out to us – she shared it with me on the My Pig Me Up fan page on Facebook, and we thought it was perfect, and loved it, so we had to share it here.

Thanks for the info, Serina, and for reaching out to us on Facebook!

This brought tears to my eyes! It’s just sooo cute but kind of happy that he has the help he needs! A lot of farmers would have just killed him when he was born without use of his legs. This pig must be very special :).

I love the name of this pig. “Chris P. Bacon” Haha. Took me a while to ask why they named him “Chris P.” but when I said it together I understood why lol. Very creative.
