You guys remember National Lampoon’s European Vacation? You know the one – the familiar clan is back and they are taking a trip, but this time, they head out all over Europe? It was made in 1985 (which makes me feel so old!) but it is still hilarious today!
One of the things that they do – and after all, the reason why I’m bringing it up today on the blog – is that they compete in a game show during the movie called Pig in a Poke. Basically, the entire family dresses up in pig costumes to play this game show within the movie itself.
And since it’s Chevy Chase in the 1980s, before he got un-funny, as you can imagine it is pretty funny and enjoyable to watch!
Here’s a clip of the game itself in the movie, as you can see the kids aren’t too excited about dressing up as pigs – and nobody in the family seems to know anything about geography, or Hungarian cabinet-making!
As you might expect, the game goes pretty badly for the family as they go through Europe in this comedy of errors. And the pig suits… well, that just was what people considered stylish back in the 1980s, I guess!
Great news. All the hard work paid off. We exceeded our goals for My Pig Me Up’s Fundraiser at Art-B-Que. We are able to bring not one but TWO mobile petting zoos to the children’s hospital. We’ll be at Egleston Children’s Hospital tomorrow. I’m super excited to interact with all the kids and the cute zoo animals. Thank you for all the support! Feel free to message me for more details. Happy Saturday!!!
Thank you for all the support! And a special thanks to all the volunteers. I couldn’t have done it without you guys.
