The Best Songs About Pigs – Part One

Written by Lillian Tram on December 13th, 2012

Humans are pretty musically inclined, but we give pigs a pretty bad rap (get it?!) when it comes to their own musical tastes. In fact, there are quite a few songs out there about pigs and pig products that rock my socks off!

You know pigs are intelligent, and you definitely know how much people like me love a good pig, but who would’ve thought that so many musicians had such great things to say about our favorite four-legged friends?!

Call it pork and roll, or maybe rhythm & bacon. Even ham hop! But whatever you call it, I’m clearly not the only person who has ham and pork on the brain all the time! Just the best ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyways, here’s part one of my list of best pig songs ever. And just for the folks at home – some of the lyrics may not be safe for work so, you know, use your best judgment!

1. War Pigs – Black Sabbath

2. Piggies – Phish

3. Pigs On The Wing 1 – Pink Floyd

4. Pigs In Zen – Jane’s Addiction

5. March Of The Pigs – Nine Inch Nails

6. Pigs – Cypress Hill

7. Pig – Dave Matthews Band

8. Pigs, Sheep And Wolves – Paul Simon

9. Pigs In Space – Mickey Hart

10. Piggy Pie (Old School) – Insane Clown Posse

11. Piggy Bank – 50 Cent

12. Piggy In The Mirror – The Cure

What do you think guys, did I miss anything? You tell me. What’s your favorite pig-related song? And remember, we’ve got a second part coming up soon, too! I can’t wait to share 12 more pig songs that rock my socks off and make me want to swine dance all night long!

I love Piggy Bank by 50 Cent! So glad you mentioned this one ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Simone says:

I liked the old angle a little bteetr because it looked more like you were spying on yourself or coworkers who would do naughty things to your desk while you were gone. This one will just take some getting used to. And now that I have seen your work station in real life it sort of loses the awe and mystery it once held for me. Damn you Thomas for stripping away what little innocence I had left. ;(

  2. Stella says:

I don’t know about any “pig” songs, but I know a ton of pig movies. Babe… Charlotte’s Web… to name a few

  3. Marc Tetreault says:

Boss Hogg Outlawz – Slim Thug – We Boss Hoggin… BEST pig song ever!

  4. Tom Herbert says:

Nice compilation! You should create a MyPigMeUp.com CD if you could get rights from all these artists :). There probably ARE a ton more songs… my mind is just drawing a blank right now :/.

  5. Karri-Ane Miller says:

A Pig Is A Pig – The Plasmatics from the album “Final Days: Anthems For The Apocalypse”. http://www.rhapsody.com/artist/the-plasmatics/album/final-days-anthems-for-the-apocalypse/track/a-pig-is-a-pig

Like War Pigs, by Black Sabbath, it is really about cute little piglets, but it’s all that comes to mind.

  6. John Bowcott says:

Pig by heavy metal band Via. The album it is on is titled: Sex & Religion. Not music for everybody, but it’s all I could come up with that mentions pigs you didn’t already have on the list.

  7. Anna Colins says:

OK, I have to admit that I Googled “pig songs” to come up with this one. Pig Meat Strut by Big Bill Broonzy. It’s a blues number apparently.

  8. Tom Herbert says:

I don’t get how all you guys can find so many songs about pigs and I’m STILL drawing a blank here!! LOL.

  9. Mark Ualls says:

What about “swine”, songs like Queen’s “Mad The Swine”, “Generation Of Swine” by The Queers, “Green Eggs And Swine” by 3rd Bass, or “No Mercy For Swine” by Cherry Poppin’ Daddies? I mean swine are pigs, right, so these should count ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. Stella says:

Lol that’s true Mark. I actually forgot all about “Cherry Poppin’ Daddies” until you brought them up! Swines and hogs should definitely count IMO. One thing though is unless they’re talking about police… then I don’t think “pig” should be considered as an actual pig in the song. Just my opinion ๐Ÿ™‚ What do you guys think?

  11. Petro Philips says:

I didn’t see The Tiger Lillies, “Learned Pig” listed or suggested in any comments yet.

  12. Tom Herbert says:

That’s a good one Petro. All of you are coming up with really good songs lol. Anyway… I FINALLY came up with something. Actually believe it or not… I found 100 PIG songs! http://www.songarea.com/music-codes/pig.html Lol. Now, whether or not they are actually songs with the word “pig” in them, or if they are simply pig sounds you can download to iTunes is debatable.

  13. Kandyce Ricardo says:

LOL Tom, were you searching for a pig related song all day?? This isn’t a contest or anything… lol.

  14. Tom Herbert says:

No I know it’s not a contest Kandyce haha. I was just bound and determined since everyone else seemed to find one so easily. If it was a contest, there’s no way I would’ve won or even came close! ๐Ÿ˜›

  15. Morgan Duckworth says:

Not in my wildest dreams did I think there were so many pig related songs. Amazing.

  16. Jill D. says:

Cool post girl! I’m excited to see what you come up with for part two! <3

  17. AnnabellesMama says:

Great compilation Lillian ^_^. I have another. “Three Little Pigs” is a song by the comedy heavy metal band Green Jellรฟ.

  18. Yulia says:

Hey Lillian! I am new to my pig me up but I love what I see here. Your posts keep me entertained and make me so warm and fuzzy inside. I love pigs. Who doesn’t? ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. noahsgirl says:

I think you guys all pretty much covered all the songs. I’ve been thinking and looking, but I can’t find any more.

  20. Shannon M. says:

I can’t think of any additional songs but you did a great list! That’s way more than I could ever come up with!

  21. Butterflygirl99 says:

Everytime I come visit mypigmeup.com… I get a craving for bacon LOL. I think it *just* might have to do with the picture of bacon that displays in the top left corner plus all the talk about pigs and bacon. Mmmm.

  22. Dean says:

No one has mentioned a song written by Roger Miller for a musical he wrote.
“How About A Hand For The Hog”.
And Ray Stevens has a song about a farmer who lost a pig out of the back of his truck by driving too fast. Ray picked it up and was told to take it to the zoo. The next day he told his friend they had so much fun he was going to take the pig to a ball game. I don’t know the title to the song.

  23. Diego says:

or maybe you can turn off all the lights when you leave your house an rleccye plastics and paper and unplug you tv and electronics to save energy!!! and spend more time outide . and try to keep lights off and open curtains and let the sun shine through!!!! so what im trying to say is you can save energy and rleccye and be green for the whole 30 days and hopefully keep it going!!!!
